Say Goodbye to Blurry Vision

Nearsightedness – Myopia

Nearsightedness, or myopia, is a condition that makes it difficult to see at a distance. This condition happens when light enters the eye and focuses in front of the retina instead of directly on it. A steeper or longer cornea can cause nearsightedness. Nearsightedness is most commonly found in children aged between 10 and 17 who have difficulty seeing the board at the front of a classroom while in school. Nearsightedness usually worsens as you get older and then stabilizes when you reach your twenties.

Nearsightedness can cause blurry vision and squinting. To detect nearsightedness, a simple vision test and refraction can be used. Contact lenses or glasses are usually used to correct vision. Adults can consider LASIK if their prescription is stable for at least one calendar year.
