Fluorescein Angiography

Fluorescein Angiography, Baton Rouge

Fundus Photography refers to the process of taking photos of the retina. Fluorescein Angiography is a technique in which fluorescein is injected into a vein and circulates through the body.

When the dye circulates into the eye, photographs are taken of the highlighted vessels within the eye. This allows for the identification of abnormalities in the vascular system. It takes around 20 minutes to perform Fluorescein angiograms with fundus photos. When our specialists perform the Fluorescein Angiography procedure in Baton Rouge, we will take multiple photographs of the eye with flashes. Although it is quite bright, it is not painful.
